Pie links. Dig in.

First up, Martha Stewart has a new pie cookbook out. She hosted a pie party in NYC last week, and a pop-up pie shop over the weekend. She recaps it at her blog, The Official Martha Stewart Blog - The Martha Blog.

Second, "Hot Grease," the online radio show produced by Heritage Radio Network, has an interview with Nancie McDermott, author of Southern Pies. Listen here.

Third, Anthony Bourdain has a typically Bourdainian view of the James Beard Awards. Read his latest blog entry here, in which he smacks down silly trendcasters (those who call pie "the new thing").

The fashionable want potpie? Of course they do.

I enjoyed this story in last week's New York Times about potpie "having a moment" among the rich and fashionable. Pie is always fashionable, folks. It's solid, dependable, delicious and personal. It's also eminently practical, as the article attests to: Anna Wintour ordered it served because it's the whole meal in one package, which keeps things moving along. Caterers like it because it stays warm longer.

Pie rules, again.

It's almost Pi Day

March 14 (3.14, get it?) is Pi Day. And we should celebrate with pie. Cute ideas here.

Martha! Pie contest! Go! Bake!

Martha Stewart and Food52 have partnered to sponsor a contest: "Your Best Late Winter Tart (Sweet or Savory)." Winner gets flown to NYC to appear on Martha's show. Yes! There seem to be other prizes too. Details here.

Hopefully, Food52 will post all the entrant-goodness, for inspiration/virtual pie-tasting.

Deadline is this Saturday, March 12, at noon. Go! Bake!

Also, Martha has an all-new Pies & Tarts book coming out March 22.
